 Let's Talk Day - CanSPEP

 CanSPEP Cares:  Mental Health, Well-Being

& Social Connections

12:00 - 2:00 EST

January 26th is Bell Let's Talk Day and wow, do we have things to talk about.

The beginning of 2022 marked the start of another year in the pandemic, and we are tired, burnt out, and more.  Some of us are questioning our continued interest in the industry.  Let's talk!

Join us at noon (Eastern) to hear from two speaker/experts to talk about changing the conversation, elevating our awareness, taking care of ourselves, and the ever-increasing importance of social connections. Each speaker will provide 30 minutes of content, and we will close out the session with an open forum to chat amongst ourselves, and ask questions of our speakers.

If are able to donate, we ask that funds be directed to The GenWell Project: https://genwellproject.org/donate/

Free to attend for CanSPEP Members and Industry Community

Speakers:

Cynthia J. Lamont, MA, C.C.C., Registered Provisional Psychologist

Cynthia is a Provisional Psychologist registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. It is my belief that success in counselling is a direct result of mutual respect and collaboration between my clients and myself.

This philosophy of counselling grew from my 20+ years as a meetings and events professional. I have had the honour to serve as the MPI Greater Calgary Chapter President; a RISE AWARD winner at MPI's WEC conference; volunteered on several boards for MPI at an international level; an instructor at Mount Royal University in the meetings and events program.  To find success in both the events world as well as in a counselling session, you must thoroughly understand your clients' challenges, strengths and most importantly, goals.

Pete Bombaci, Founder, The GenWell Project

Pete is an expert in the field of human connection and the founder of The GenWell Project - a Canadian Not-For-Profit organization dedicated to making the world a happier and healthier place by educating, empowering and catalyzing people around the importance of proactive face-to-face social connection as an action they can take for their own heath and wellness, or the health and wellness of others.

Following a successful career in the beverage alcohol industry, Pete ventured into the world of cause and not-for-profit, by heading up Movember Canada. Under his leadership, Movember Canada grew to become the number one fundraising country in the world, raising 142M dollars over 5 years. Since his departure, Pete has focused on the roll out of his passion project, The GenWell Project.

Although society was in need of a Human Connection Movement prior to the global pandemic, Covid-19 has raised the collective consciousness about the need for greater human connection in the world, and The GenWell Project wants to the catalyst that makes that desire a reality for all.

He is a frequent keynote speaker and workshop facilitator within businesses, schools, and community organizations on the power of human connection, and has contributed opinion pieces for print, magazines, radio and online.
