Membership Types

Full Member (Voting)
$325.00 + HST annually

To be considered as a Full Member, one must be:

  • Self-employed as an event entrepreneur or the owner of an event management firm with 15 or fewer employees.
  • A member agrees to abide by our professional principles.

To obtain a Full Membership the applicant must be a self-employed Event Planner who meets the above membership criteria. Membership includes the right to vote, and eligibility to hold a position on the Board of Directors and Committees who meets the above membership criteria.  The applicant must agree to abide by CanSPEP’s Code of Ethics.

Associate Membership (Voting)
$147.50 + HST annually

To obtain an Associate Membership, the applicant must be an employee of a self-employed Event Planner who holds a Full Membership in CanSPEP. Membership includes the right to vote, and eligibility to hold a position on the Board of Directors and Committees.  The applicant must agree to abide by CanSPEP’s Code of Ethics.

Student Membership (Non-Voting)
$50.00 + HST annually

To obtain a Student Membership, the applicant must be a current Full-Time student in a college or university level event planning/management course.  The applicant must provide a copy of their current Full-Time student I.D.  Membership does not include a right to vote or a position on the Board of Directors, however student members are encouraged to participate on Committees. The applicant must agree to abide by CanSPEP’s Code of Ethics.

Retired Membership (Non-Voting)
$50.00 + HST annually
  • A retired member shall be an Entrepreneurial Event Planner who has now ceased working full- time but is still active in the Society/industry on a volunteer basis. The member has been a CanSPEP member in good standing for a minimum of 5 years, and their business is no longer operating. Retired members are entitled to attend meetings, educational days, conference, etc. at full price. Retired members can also sit as members of committees but do not have voting privileges.
Emeritus Membership (Non-Voting)
No Fee
  • This category of member will be restricted to currently designated emeritus members. Emeritus members by definition are retired from professional service but are allowed to retain former title of “member” but not full privileges.  As with retired members, emeritus members will not have voting privileges.
