Join fellow CanSPEP members for an honest, collaborative conversation about Sustainability in Events. This isn’t about having all the answers or showing off perfectly “green” events. It’s about sharing the real story—what’s working, what’s been harder than expected, and where we’re all still figuring things out when it comes to making more sustainable choices in our events.

This interactive discussion is designed to be open, supportive, and practical. Members are encouraged to share candid experiences, lessons learned, and questions they’re still wrestling with, as we collectively navigate the realities of incorporating sustainable practices into events of all sizes and scopes. By learning from one another’s wins and obstacles, we can build stronger, more realistic approaches to sustainability—grounded in transparency, collaboration, and the lived experience of our community.

CanSPEP Connections will, in general, be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 ET for one hour.

Register today and mark your calendars.

This is a CanSPEP Planner Members only event and there is no cost to attend.

Presented by:  Highbell Hospitality Group and Quell

Are traditional venues killing your networking vibe? Spaces & Faces explores the rise of third spaces—unexpected, community-driven environments that are redefining how people connect, collaborate, and experience events.

This session dives into why moving beyond conventional host venues can dramatically shift energy, engagement, and outcomes. We’ll unpack who your event is really for, where it should live, and how venue choice can either elevate or quietly sabotage the experience.

You’ll also learn how thoughtfully curated third-space events can drive regenerative tourism, support local ecosystems, and create lasting economic and social impact—while still delivering unforgettable guest experiences.

Through real-world examples from our own portfolio, we’ll show how activating non-traditional spaces leads to stronger connections, better storytelling, and more meaningful community integration.
